“Sariputra, if there are people who have already made the vow, who now make the vow, or who are about to make the vow, ‘I desire to be born in Amitabha’s country,’ these people, whether born in the past, now being born, or to be born in the future, all will irreversibly attain to anuttarasamyaksambodhi. Therefore, Sariputra, all good men and good women, if they are among those who have faith, should make the vow, ‘I will be born in that country.’”

~ Amitabha Sutra

When I obtain the Buddhahood, any being of the boundless and inconceivable Buddha-worlds of the ten quarters whose body if be touched by the rays of my splendour should not make his body and mind gentle and peaceful, in such a state that he is far more sublime than the gods and men, then may I not attain the enlightenment.

Pledge Online - 100 Million Mani Recitation Retreat 2008

“A Buddha capable of extraordinary feats beyond the capacity of any other being, such as stating exactly how many drops of rain would fall during a rainstorm lasting twelve years, would not be able to fully describe the merit generated by a single recitation of the Mani.” …. extracted from ‘Mani Kabum’

“Dedicated Towards World Peace, Prosperity and Well-being of the Nation.”

HE Thritsab Gyabra Rinpoche & Rabsang Rinpoche are here to lead the retreat again from 29/12/2008 to 31/12/2008 at Suntec, Singapore!

In our world of uncertainties today where fightings are rife, economic upheavals are causing tensions and where natural disasters and deadly viruses strike without warning, causing intense suffering upon us, this Mani practice brings great benefits to all beings.
From whereever you are, may you give the best gift to the world – the gift of dharma!

PLEDGE TODAY a minimum of 10,000, 50,000 or more “Om Mani Padme Hum” to be completed before 30/12/08!

Your pledge will be added into the total count for the retreat.

Please send your NAME, the NUMBER of pledged mantras to enquiry@maniretreat.org

Purpose and Benefits This Retreat

This retreat focuses solely on the recitation of the mantra OM MANI PADME HUNG. Verbal recitation is encouraged so as to develop within the individual the deepest qualities of mindfulness, compassion, and peace, through the blessings of Avalokiteshvara ( Guanyin ) and a pure mind. The merit accumulated will be dedicated towards Well–being of World Peace, Economy & Health.

Why 100 Million?

"By reciting one hundred Million Mani, all the myriad living organisms in your body will be blessed by Avalokiteshvara ( Guanyin ), and when you die even the smoke from the cremation of your corpse will have the power to protect whoever inhales it from rebirth in the lower realms." — Karandaryuha Sutra 《宝箧经》

A Buddha capable of extraordinary feats beyond the capacity of any other being, such as stating exactly how many drops of rain would fall during a rainstorm lasting twelve years, would not be able to fully describe the merit generated by a single recitation of the Mani.

Why Group Practice?

Group practice is analogous to a drop of water merging with the great ocean. Hence, the amount of merits accumulated by each practitioner is the same as that accumulated by the entire group. Similarly, through participating in the 100 million Mani mantra recitation retreat, the amount of merits each participant accumulate is equivalent to that of individually reciting the Six-Syllable mantra a 100 million times.
