Giving or Buying?
Giving with expectations of any returns is not giving - it is buying. We put a price tag on what we intend to receive from this transaction. We're trying to buy our expectations with whatever we gave.
"The receiving is in the moment we give it. - The getting and receiving is experienced in the moment you give something away. The transaction is complete. The giving is how we receive, too.
Giving is spontaneous, and only the story of a future, a story about what the recipient owe us for it, would keep us from knowing our own generosity. What comes back is none of our business. It's over." (Quoted from Loving what is, Byron Katie p179,180)
